..Remote work is newer to society, not new to employment because some occupations worked from home long before covid. It is important to use your communication tools; your cloud-based team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, etc set by your organization or communication tools you can implement to your employees.
Allows for updates on need-to-know basis
Accessibility for meetings
Collaborations with team and extended teams
immediate communication
well-being check through the day
All are a part of operating a successful interconnected team/teams daily within an organization.
It is not to monitor you, the company knows you are responsible to handle this level of communication, be the professional you are and remember:

Why cant I download my file?
do you have an internet connection? Are you onsite and office or working remote in which you will also need your vpn. Are you downloading network info or for work or business or leisure download?
try test downloading from a different browser
do you have sufficient permission to download? check if the sender has placed a restriction on the file to download.
corrupted or missing file on both end-user end could be causing the issue
firewall or antivirus settings could be causing the issue
